The Introduction to the Marudai Book was initially created for students in my class at the first Texas Kumihimo Retreat in Houston. I had such wonderful feedback and encouragement to sell the book! I then wanted to create videos to accompany the material so customers could not only obtain the book but also have a feel for the face-to-face class content. 

This product package is aimed to help you overcome apprehension about getting started with a marudai. The following objectives are thoroughly addressed and you will be able to practice, with the book and videos, at a comfortable and personal pace:

• Prepare tama leaders.

• Calculate tama weight and counterweight to achieve desired braid consistency.

• Secure elements to tama leaders.

• Demonstrate proper body position for braiding.

• Demonstrate tama handling for an eight element Kongo Gumi braid.
